TAHA is pleased to announce that the 2024 Boys’ Texas Affiliate Camp ("TAC") will be held as follows:
DATES - Fri/Mar 15 - Sun/Mar 17, 2024
LOCATION - Children's Health StarCenter - Valley Ranch, 211 Cowboys Parkway, Irving, TX 75063
SCHEDULE - Click HERE. For your planning purposes, see 'Additional Requirements/Information' below for general ice times per age division.
OBJECTIVE - The objective of TAC is to evaluate the Affiliate’s top players at their respective positions and age groups -- Boys: (17's) 2007, (16's) 2008, (15's) 2009, and (14's) 2010. Based upon each player’s performance in a series of scrimmages, TAC evaluators will select a limited number of players at each position and within each age group to represent TAHA as follows:
- (17's) 2007, (16's) 2008, and (15's) 2009 - Rocky Mountain District (RMD) Player Development Camp currently scheduled to be held in May 17-19, 2024, at Children's Health StarCenter - Plano, Plano, TX. This camp link, once available, will be updated/included on this site.
- (14's) 2010 - Multi-District Camp (Western Regional High Performance Camp) currently scheduled to be held June 10-15, 2024, in Colorado Springs on the campus of Colorado College .
EVALUATORS - Similar to seasons past, TAC evaluators will be experienced hockey coaches from outside of the States of Texas and Oklahoma. Our goal is to improve the integrity and consistency of the player evaluation process by eliminating the natural biases that can occur when coaches are evaluating groups of players that include those from their own team or association.
ELIGIBILITY - Each TAC participant MUST:
- be born in one of the following birth years: 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010.
- BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES as at the date of registration.
- have official permanent residence in the State of Texas or the State of Oklahoma.
- be in good standing with his Association and with TAHA/USAH.
SELF NOMINATION - TAC is intended for the TOP players at each birth year. While the registration process is open, we would request that coaches speak with their players about which players fit this category. In fairness to all those on the ice, if there are players who clearly “do not belong” with the group, they will be cut after the first skate.
'TIERED' REGISTRATION - The registration process will be the same as in years past. 'TIERED' registration will be open by current 2023-24 playing level until all the slots for a given birth year and a given position are full. See below/as follows for the online registration link and the respective tiered registration dates (all listed times are CST):
- AAA, TIER I, JUNIOR, or PREP SCHOOL ROSTER - Players currently on either a Tier I, AAA, Junior, or Prep School (not Texas High School) roster may register as early as 9:00am CST, Tues/Feb 20, 2024. The registration portal temporarily closed 11:59pm CST Thurs/Feb 22. Players in this tier may continue to register throughout the balance of the open registration.
- DSTHL AA or TIER II ROSTER - The registration portal will reopen for players currently on a DSTHL AA or Tier II roster at 9:00am CST, Sun/Feb 25, 2024
- DSTHL A or HIGH SCHOOL ROSTER (All Other Affiliate Players) – Players currently (a) on a DSTHL A roster or (b) not on a DSTHL roster but on a TAHA High School roster – may register no earlier than 6:00am CST, Wed/Feb 28, 2024.
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
- The registration portal will close 11:59pm CST, Sat/Mar 9, 2024.
DISQUALIFICATION - NOTE: ANY player registering EARLIER than his level of play as set forth above WILL BE DISQUALIFIED from participating in TAC this year. It is critical that Association leaderships and coaches communicate the tiered process to the parents and players.
ACCURACY - Upon the first date of registration eligibility as set forth above, each player will follow the instructions to be provided via the online registration link. Registrants are reminded that all data submitted MUST BE ACCURATE – ESPECIALLY the email address.
RMR MEMBER LOG IN - Online registration will again be offered via third-party service Rocky Mountain Registrar ("RMR"); returning TAC registrants are, therefore, encouraged to locate their RMR member login information beforehand.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFORMATION
- COST - $180 (online payment). Registration fees are non-refundable; all payment transactions are final.
- 2023-24 USAH PLAYER REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION NUMBER - To register for TAC, Players will need a 2023-24 USAH Player Registration Confirmation Number. If you need to locate that number, click HERE to request a Duplicate Registration Confirmation.
- PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CAMP COMMITMENT - Potential participants need be reminded/advised that by registering for TAC, they are also committing (if selected to advance) to attend the District/Multi-District Level Camps as set forth above.
- TAC CAMP DETAILS - Players registered for TAC may access camp details which will be posted on this webpage by 11:59pm CST, Mon/Mar 11, 2024 (check-in times, assigned teams, etc.).
- GENERAL SCHEDULE -
- (15's) 2009 and (14's) 2010–
- Registrants may expect to be on the ice as early as 9:00am CST, Fri/Mar 15, 2024, and skate twice on Friday.
- Player selections to the final two All Star teams, which will skate once Saturday and once Sunday, will be posted by 9:00pm CST, Fri/Mar 15, 2024.
- All on-ice sessions shall be completed by 2:00pm CST, on Sun/Mar 17, 2024.
- (17's) 2007 and (16's) 2008–
- Registrants may expect to be on the ice as early as 11:45am CST, Fri/Mar 15, 2024, and skate once Friday and once Saturday.
- Player selections to the final two All Star teams, which will skate once Saturday and once Sunday, will be posted by 1:00pm CST, Sat/Mar 16, 2024.
- All on-ice sessions shall be completed by 2:00pm CST, on Sun/Mar 17, 2024.
- PLAYER SELECTIONS - Players selected to advance to the above-mentioned camps, respectively, will be posted on the TAHA website by 6:00pm CST, Mon/Mar 18, 2024.
