TAHA is pleased to announce that the 2025 Boys’ Texas Affiliate Camp ("TAC") will be held as follows:
DATES - Fri/Mar 14 - Sun/Mar 16, 2025
LOCATION - Children's Health StarCenter - Valley Ranch, 211 Cowboys Parkway, Irving, TX 75063
SCHEDULE - Click HERE. For your planning purposes, see 'Additional Requirements/Information' below for general ice times per age division. Understandably, please note that special schedule or team requests cannot be entertained in the absence of extenuating circumstances.
OBJECTIVE - The objective of TAC is to evaluate the Affiliate’s top players at their respective positions and age groups -- Boys: (17's) 2008, (16's) 2009, (15's) 2010, and (14's) 2011. Based upon each player’s performance in a series of scrimmages, TAC evaluators will select a limited number of players at each position and within each age group to represent TAHA as follows:
- (17's) 2008, (16's) 2009, and (15's) 2010 - Rocky Mountain District (RMD) Player Development Camp currently scheduled to be held in May 16-18, 2025, at Children's Health StarCenter - Plano, Plano, TX. More information may be accessed HERE as it becomes available/updated.
- (14's) 2011 - Western Regional High Performance Camp currently scheduled to be held June 9-14, 2025, in Colorado Springs, CO, on the campus of Colorado College . Additional information may also be accessed HERE as it becomes available/updated.
EVALUATORS - Similar to seasons past, TAC evaluators will be experienced hockey coaches from outside of the States of Texas and Oklahoma. Our goal is to improve the integrity and consistency of the player evaluation process by eliminating the natural biases that can occur when coaches are evaluating groups of players that include those from their own team or association.
ELIGIBILITY - Each TAC participant MUST:
- be born in one of the following birth years: 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011.
- BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES as at the date of registration.
- have official permanent residence in the State of Texas or the State of Oklahoma.
- be in good standing with his association and with TAHA/USAH.
SELF NOMINATION - TAC is intended for the TOP players at each birth year. While the registration process is open, we would request that coaches speak with their players about which players fit this category. In fairness to all those on the ice, if there are players who clearly “do not belong” with the group, they will be cut after the first skate.
'TIERED' REGISTRATION - The registration process will be the same as in years past. 'TIERED' registration will be open by current 2024-25 playing level until all the slots for a given birth year and a given position are full. See below/as follows for the online registration link and the respective tiered registration dates:
- TIER I/AAA | JUNIOR | PREP SCHOOL ROSTER-
- Players currently on either a Tier I/AAA, Junior, or Prep School (not Texas High School) roster may register as early as 9:00am CST Mon/Feb 17, 2025. The registration portal will temporarily close at 11:59pm CST Wed/Feb 19, 2025. Players in this tier may continue to register throughout the balance of the open registration windows.
- DSTHL AA | TIER II ROSTER -
- The registration portal will reopen for players currently on a team that participates in a DSTHL AA division or a Tier II roster at 9:00am CST Sat/Feb 22, 2025.
- DSTHL A | HIGH SCHOOL ROSTER | OTHER –
- Players currently on one of the following rosters may register no earlier than 9:00am CST Tues/25, 2025.
- a team that participates in a DSTHL A division
- a TAHA High School team or
- other house/rec roster.
REGISTRATION to be posted mon/feb 17, 2025
- The registration portal will close 11:59pm CST Fri/Mar 7, 2025.
DISQUALIFICATION - NOTE: ANY player entering his registration portal account EARLIER than his level of play as set forth above WILL BE DISQUALIFIED from participating in TAC this year. It is critical that Association leaderships and coaches communicate the tiered process to the parents and players.
ACCURACY - Upon the first date of registration eligibility as set forth above, each player will follow the instructions to be provided via the online registration link. Registrants are reminded that all data submitted MUST BE ACCURATE – ESPECIALLY the email address.
RMR MEMBER LOG IN - Online registration will again be offered via third-party service Rocky Mountain Registrar ("RMR"); returning TAC registrants are, therefore, encouraged to locate their RMR member login information beforehand.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFORMATION
- COST - $180 (online payment). Registration fees are non-refundable; all payment transactions are final.
- 2024-25 USAH PLAYER REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION NUMBER - To register for TAC, Players will need a 2024-25 USAH Player Registration Confirmation Number. If you need to locate that number, click HERE to request a Duplicate Registration Confirmation.
- PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CAMP COMMITMENT - Potential participants acknowledge that by registering for TAC, they are also committing (if selected to advance) to attend the District/Western Regional Camps as set forth above.
- TAC CAMP DETAILS - Players registered for TAC may access camp details which will be posted on this webpage by 11:59pm CST Mon/Mar 10, 2025 (check-in times, assigned teams, etc.).
- GENERAL SCHEDULE -
- (15's) 2010 and (14's) 2011–
- Registrants may expect to be on the ice as early as 9:00am CST Fri/Mar 14, 2025, and skate twice on Friday.
- Player selections to the final two All Star teams, which will skate once Saturday and once Sunday, will be posted by 9:00pm CST Fri/Mar 14, 2025.
- All on-ice sessions shall be completed by 2:00pm CST on Sun/Mar 16, 2025.
- (17's) 2008 and (16's) 2009–
- Registrants may expect to be on the ice as early as 11:45am CST Fri/Mar 14, 2025, and skate once Friday and once Saturday.
- Player selections to the final two All Star teams, which will skate once Saturday and once Sunday, will be posted by 1:00pm CST, Sat/Mar 15, 2025.
- All on-ice sessions shall be completed by 2:00pm CST on Sun/Mar 16, 2025.
- PLAYER SELECTIONS - Players selected to advance to the above-mentioned camps, respectively, will be posted on the TAHA website by 6:00pm CST Mon/Mar 17, 2025.
